This Rattlesnake Lake Winter Engagement Session wasn’t planned for Rattlesnake Lake at all. The three of us planned their engagement session months before their shoot. Our original plan was to photograph their engagement session at Mount Rainier National Park. Unfortunately, the crazy snow up in Seattle had different plans for us.

Leading up to their engagement session, the weather in the PNW changed dramatically. Seattle and the surrounding areas were planned on getting hit hard with snow. With the weather, Mount Rainier was out of the question. The day before I flew up to Seattle, we decided to shoot in North Bend at another location.

As soon as I arrived, I received a text from Miranda that the highway had been closed. As I started to drive towards our original location, an alert on the highway stated we needed chains to get to where we were going. Scrambling last minute, we decided to get off the highway before the pass and where the weather was the worst. Rattlesnake Lake would be our final destination.

When I arrived to Rattlesnake Lake, the snow was coming down hard. The snow started to accumulate and the wind was blowing snow in every other direction. The three of us started down by the lake, but with the wind, we decided to try find more of a woods area to avoid the wind. Running back and forth to the car to stay warm and trekking through snow knee deep, we came out with some of the most perfect images. Miranda & Josh were absolutely amazing, enduring the cold, wet, snowy weather.

Here is a little peek into Miranda & Josh’s Rattlesnake Lake Winter Engagement Session.
