Carly & Daniel’s Fort Collins Engagement Session called for 10% chance of rain. What we received was 100% chance of rain, and it was absolutely perfect!

These two, along with their three year old pup meet up with me in Fort Collins as we headed just west of town. Our first location, or so we thought, was near Horestooth Reservoir. When we arrived, we learned that dogs were not permitted at this particular area. This is very rare, seeing how dog friendly Fort Collins is. We packed back up, and headed down the mountain to a beautiful little spot nearby.

For about a half an hour we spent capturing Carly and Daniel along with their three year old pup. Loving and giving her smooches is exactly what she needed after the hour long car ride. In other words, their little pup loved every second of it.

As we we finished up down below the mountain, we headed back up to our original spot. We took the short, steep hike up the side of the mountain where it overlooked the beautiful Horsetooth Reservoir. This particular spot was pretty quiet with just a few rock climbers enjoying the evening.

The three of us explored the area, capturing what we could before the rain started to fall. Over the mountains to the west the clouds began to darken and you could hear the thunder rolling in the distance. Meanwhile the storm grew closer, so we really started to hustle to make sure we could get everything in.

Carly, Daniel and I started back down the east side of the mountain to capture the views of Fort Collins below. The rain started to fall as we were finishing up. There was one particular shot I really wanted, which involved them laying on the grass. At this point, laying on wet grass didn’t matter because the rain had already started to soak us.

As we finished that final shot, we scurried down the mountain to the muddy parking lot. Similarly, a beautiful rainbow came out through the clouds, and I knew we had to capture it. I needed one more shot and it came out perfect.

Here is a little peek into Carly and Daniel’s Fort Collins Engagement Session. I hope you enjoy these photos as much as I do. Enjoy!
