Katie & Ryan’s Estes Park Winter Engagement Session was originally planned for another location and day, but weather would dictate when and where we would go. Colorado’s weather can be absolutely unpredictable and that is exactly what we ran into for Katie & Ryan’s engagement session.
Two days before their engagement session, I noticed the weather was going to be in the negative temps, so I reached out to reschedule their session to a day earlier. Katie flew in from D.C. the morning of their engagement session to find a snowy Colorado. With the rapidly changing weather, we had to yet again change the time of the shoot from the evening to the afternoon.
The three of us met in Estes Park where we would venture off to find the perfect place. When we arrived to the parking lot of where we would go, we stepped outside and the wind was howling. Hiking up to our original location was not going to happen. We settled to staying close to our vehicle in the event we needed to get warm.
There was literally nobody out where we were. Katie & Ryan had the whole entire frozen lake to themselves. The weather was changing almost every 10 minutes, form cloudy, to sun, to being an absolute snow globe. It was perfect!
We had snowball fights, braving the crazy wind, and running back to the truck to stay warm. Here is a little peek of Katie & Ryan’s engagement session in beautiful Estes Park. I hope you enjoy these images as much as I do.
