Sara & Evan wanted a fall engagement session with all the colors that Estes Park, Colorado has to offer. We scheduled their session pretty far in advance hoping for the colors to be at their peak.
We checked foliage prediction maps ahead of schedule of when the colors of the leaves should be changing. Sometimes those maps can be off, and we weren’t sure if we were even going to have any leaves on the trees at all.
We arrived in Estes Park hoping for the best. The leaves were spotty and still green to our surprise, so we had to search out to get some fall colors.
We started at a location that I knew no tourists would be at. It is a beautiful aspen grove in town away from Rocky Mountain National Park. We had the whole area to ourselves to explore the aspen grove and fields. The leaves were just starting to change, but we still got that fall glow with the long grass and the sunlight peaking through the aspens.
We spent most of our time in the grove before heading to Rocky Mountain National Park. The one area I did want to go to was unfortunately packed by tourists viewing the elks in the field. We changed course, parked on the side of the road and walked out into a field behind some trees for some cover and privacy. We ended up catching some mountain views and just starting to turn leaves.
Here is a little peek of what we got into last night! Thank you again Sara & Evan for such an amazing time!
